Stump grinding is the process in which we use a purpose-built machine called a stump grinder to remove stumps. Stump grinders use a powerful rotating disc with carbide teeth to tear into the stumps, leaving behind wood chips. These wood chips can be used as mulch, backfilled into the hole, or hauled off as debris.
At Father Son Stump Removal we sometimes manually dig around the stump before grinding. This exposes the roots and uncovers potential hazards, such as rocks, rebar, etcetera. We then remove the hazards and grind the stump below ground level. In some cases, we backfill the hole with soil leaving you with a level surface that can be landscaped and prepped for the next use. Your satisfaction is guaranteed and depending on the application we will ensure you have the proper soil depth required to grow grass, plant a garden, be mulched, etc.
