Our Process
- First, we use hand tools to expose the root system including:
- lateral roots
- sinker roots
- oblique roots
- secondary roots
- taproot
- Then, we sever the various roots with a different tools
- Next, we remove the stump from the excavated space
- Then, if requested by the customer, we reconstitute the excavated space with a mixture of original soil and topsoil (additional fee)
- Finally, we apply grass seed, fertilizer, and straw to complete the renovation (additional fee)

The Quartet [Manual Removal]
A recent project involved removing four stumps of various sizes from one yard. We removed three manually and one using the grinder.
The Crocodillian [Manual Removal]
This interestingly-shaped root system with multiple oblique roots was left after cutting down the stump of a maple tree. Check out photos of our manual extraction process.
Medusa [Manual + Stump Grinding]
This monster of a stump had dozens of long, thick roots, and was home to a copperhead before Father Son Stump Removal arrived on the scene.
